HOTEL RESERVATIONS
A block of rooms has been reserved for candidates
at a special rate of $159 (plus tax) per night, single
or double. This rate represents a discount over standard
rates. Please reserve your room early as they fill
up quickly. Guests can access the site to book, modify,
or cancel a reservation until March 24, 2009. The
ABOto is not affiliated with or responsible for content,
offers, terms, or conditions mentioned on the hotel
web sites. The closest airport is O'Hare International
Airport.

state that you are with the American Board of Otolaryngology.
The Benchmark restaurant in the hotel will be open
for breakfast (6:00 AM) and lunch. Twenty-four hour
room service is also available.
Hotel Airport Shuttle Service
A complimentary shuttle bus runs to and from the
hotel approximately every fifteen minutes, 24 hours
a day. You should allow at least 30 minutes travel
time during non-peak hours, and at least 45 minutes
during peak rush hours.
WRITTEN
QUALIFYING EXAM
The Written Exam will be administered on Friday,
April 17, 2009 at the location listed below. You are
to report to the Grand Ballroom at the Westin Hotel
O'Hare promptly at 7:00 AM for registration and orientation.
This is the only registration session for this exam.
A government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport,
state ID card) is required for registration. Failure
to report on time may disqualify you from the examination.
You are NOT permitted to bring personal items (briefcases,
backpacks, purses, books, PDAs, copying devices, cell
phones, beepers, pens, and pencils) into the exam
room. Luggage must be checked at the bellstand in
the hotel lobby.
- DO NOT BRING CELL PHONES
- The exam consists of two sessions, each last 3½
hours each, with a 90 minute lunch. The exam will
conclude by 4:45 PM.
- Restrooms are available during the exam. You may
bring small food items (such as candy bars) with
you to the exam table, but consumption of these
items should not create a distraction to other candidates.
Soft drinks and coffee are provided. Smoking is
not permitted.
- Pencils are provided; do not bring your own pencils.
- Attire is casual. We attempt to maintain a comfortable
temperature in the exam room, however you are advised
to dress in layers.
ORAL CERTIFYING
EXAM
Please report to the Grand Ballroom at the Westin
O'Hare Hotel at your designated time (per your approval
memo) for registration and orientation. This is the
only registration session for this exam. A government-issued
photo ID (driver's license, passport, state ID card)
is required for registration.

in the testing area. Luggage must be checked at

men; business attire for women).
- Please have breakfast or lunch prior to the exam.
Only beverages will be available at registration.
